Oh BOY oh BOY!!

I bet you are in shock that i actually have a new blog post! Me too! I am embarrassed that it has been a year, a YEAR :( So many wonderful memories have been made by my family since then and i have just not made the time to post. Maybe i will soon do a recap of a few highlights! Anyways, we are excited to announce that our family is expanding and we will be adding a BOY to the mix. I am super excited and at the same time overwhelmed. I have a lot to learn....growing up with a sister, girls are all that i know.
Most of you know that i have been having frequent ultrasounds due to a subchorionic hemorrhage . It has been a very scary experience but the prayers and support of my family and friends have given me hope and i have just had to put complete faith in my God who is in control. The benefit to frequent ultrasounds ( and i mean like 2-3 a week for the first three weeks and now just 1 a week) is that i have been able to follow the growth of this baby as sonographically (? i may have just made that word up) as possible! It is truly amazing to see the growth in two days and in two weeks!
I am now 17 weeks and the ultrasound tech told Daniel and I that she could tell us the sex of the baby with certainty. It was important to us that Leighton was included in the process, so all three of us anxiously awaited as the ultrasound tech did her job. Leighton loved hearing the heart beat and one time, the baby waved at us and she waved back! (so cute)
We invited both our families to meet us a Mellow Mushroom on Thursday night for the big reveal. We had Mellow Mushroom write in pepperoni on the pizza. Check out several of our photos from the night!

Mellow Mushroom Selwyn- You guys are awesome! Thank you for making our night so fun!

Two almost identical family shots of the evening!

My first "boy" gift, little camo booties from my parents! They bought both girl and boy booties-Mom likes to be prepared ;)

Leighton really enjoyed our blue thumbprint cookies for dessert!

I really am going to try to be better about updating my blog! Hope you enjoyed it!

Leighton's first show

Thursday night, Daniel and I took Leighton to see Disney Live! A Rockin Road Show. I think I was more excited to see Mickey and Minnie than she was. Plus, we were going uptown! It is always fun to get her all dolled up and take her out on the town! Here a just a few pics from the evening....sorry they are a bit out of order. I'm still learning how to upload and edit!

Getting all ready to go!!
After the show Leighton was inspired to put on her own! I think it is so cute that she sings into the bee's antenna.
Daddy and his little Mouse after the show!
Mickey, Minnie and Goofy
Mommy and her little Mouse!
You can't go to a show and not get Mouse ears and cotton candy!

What a difference a week makes!

I am experiencing a major case of spring fever! I loved the snow but am so ready for flip flops and sundresses and pool time. I hope that this weekend wasn't just a tease but i spent as much time outside as possible just in case spring is still a few weeks away. Here are a fews pictures from the park and a few from last weeks snow!

Here's lookin at you kid

Today, i had a few moments of free time (rare) and decided to look through my pictures on the computer. Oh, how time flies. Between bouts of tears, i laughed, smiled and enjoyed seeing all of Leighton's stages including her pre birth-in my belly stages and even the married-no kids-what did-we-used-to-do-with-our-lives stages. Its all fun! The funniest of all though are the photo booth pictures. I have attached a few for your enjoyment:) I even made Leighton take one with me today.

Mum's the word

This familiar phrase is British slang for "keeping silent". Well, I'm not keeping silent any more! After seeing so many friends' blogs, I have decided that I have things to say too :) Actually the main reason i decided to start blogging has to do with mums. No, not the flower but moms, motherhood, children. I am a mommy to a precious thirteen month old and want to post photos, recap funny stories and share experiences with moms, friends and family. I hope you enjoy!
